Sometimes the simplest toys…

Uh-Oh...

….are the ones with the most longevity. BabyBoy and BabyGirl have all sorts of toys, many of which make all sorts of weird and wonderful sounds (thank goodness for volume and off switches) but two favourites that have been keeping their attention for months now are their stacking cups and stacking rings.

BabyBoy and BabyGirl absolutely love their plastic stacking cups. It’s their go-to toy in the mornings at the moment. We have the ELC ones, but there are lots of different versions. I like the ELC ones because they have numbers on the bottom (useful when mummy is too tired to judge which goes where), some are see-through (new version of peek-a-boo) and they have little holes in the bottom (good for sand and water play). As well as being stacked up and knocked down, they also make a satisfying noise when clapped together, or when one in put inside the other and shaken. A huge variety of uses for a toy which costs all of £6.

The stacking rings are another big hit, and they haven’t even got to the stage of actually stacking the rings yet. But the rings (and the stand) can chewed on, they make a new noise when clapped together, and they roll all over the place when thrown. (They also fit through the bars of the playpen, which is a great game for BabyBoy and BabyGirl, not so much for mummy). We have the plastic versions, but there are also wooden ones available. Around £10 depending on brand.

So no need to break the bank to keep everyone entertained!
