Now, seriously, you’ve brought up a child. You’ve ‘been there, done that’ in terms of toddlerhood (supposedly). So why why why do you continue to do things which are, lets face it, downright dangerous when you’ve got little people in the house?
Yes, my mother-in-law has come for a visit (can you tell?). And despite the fact that she has obviously had a child, common sense seems to have left the building. Twice in less than 24 hours I have had to move cups of hot tea that have been left on low coffee tables well within reach of little hands. Argh!!!!
This is also the person who left a baby unattended on a changing table at least three times (cue mad dashes across the room), and who insists on letting BabyBoy and BabyGirl out of the (very large) baby-proofed areas of the house when she clearly cannot run after both of them at once (hey, there’s two of them, they will run in different directions).
And…..breathe…..
(Ps I’m not mean, really, I know she getting ‘older’, but forgetfulness doesn’t quite cut it when my children might be scalded…)
My husband thinks I’m being silly when I get mad that he drinks coffee while holding the baby, UM HELLO- IF IT SPILLED IT WOULD PROBABLY BLISTER OR SCAR A BABY’S SKIN!!!!! That’s freaking terrifying to me!! UGH!
I’ve had to have that conversation with my hubby too! Sometimes I wonder if it’s only mummies that notice these things!!
